This free crochet s’more keychain pattern uses the following special stitch tutorials:
- Single Crochet (YU/YO Method)
- Joining Rounds
- Spike Stitch
This pattern is worked in the round, with each round joined at the end with a slip stitch. Unless otherwise instructed, the first stitch of your next round will always be worked into the same stitch as your joining slip stitch has been worked into.
Be sure to always keep the ‘right side’ of your stitches facing outwards as you work. The right side is the front side of the stitch that is facing you as you are completing each stitch.
Spike Stitch:
The difference between a single crochet and a spike stitch is simply where the stitch is worked into.
This free crochet s’more keychain pattern uses a variation of the single crochet spike stitch that is worked only 1 row beneath the current row, as seen below.

Locate your next stitch, but instead of working into the top of your current row, insert your hook just 1 row down from where you would normally insert. Yarn over and pull through.
Pull your new loop up to the height of your current row. Then, finish your single crochet as normal by yarning over and pulling through both loops to complete.
For this crochet s’more keychain pattern specifically, you will be working 2 spike stitches into the same stitch. Repeat these steps 1 more time, into the same stitch, before continuing.

Crochet Marshmallow:
With yarn A (white), make a magic ring (or ch 2, work rnd 1 into 2nd ch from hook).
Rnd 1: 6sc into ring, sl st into 1st st to join, ch 1 (6).
Rnd 2: 2sc into each st around, join, ch 1 (12).

Rnd 3: in BLO of each st around, [1sc into each of next 3 sts, 2sc into next st] 3 times, join, ch 1 (15).
Rnd 4: [2sc into next st, 1sc into each of next 4 sts] 3 times, join, ch 1 (18).
Rnd 5: 1sc into each st around, join (18).
Fasten off yarn A and leave a short tail for tying.
Join yarn B (brown) by inserting your hook into the first stitch of your next round. Pull up a loop of yarn B and chain 1.
Tie the tails of both yarn A and yarn B together on the interior of your piece to secure your ends.
Rnd 6: [1sc into next st, 2SPsc into st 1 rnd below next st, sk next st] 6 times, join, ch 1 (18).

Rnd 7: [sc2tog over next 2 sts, 1sc into each of next 4 sts] 3 times, join, ch 1 (15).
Rnd 8: [1sc into each of next 3 sts, sc2tog over next 2 sts] 3 times, join, ch 1 (12).
Rnd 9: in BLO of each st around, [sc2tog over next 2 sts] 6 times, join (6).
Fasten off yarn B and leave a tail for sewing closed.
Sewing Marshmallow Closed:
To sew the top hole closed, pass your needle, from front to back, through the front loop only of each stitch around and then pull tight.

Secure your sewing with a knot, trim the tail, then sew in any remaining length.
Crochet Graham Cracker:
With yarn C (beige), make a magic ring (or ch 2, work rnd 1 into 2nd ch from hook).
Rnd 1: 6sc into ring, sl st into 1st st to join, ch 1 (6).
Rnd 2: 2sc into each st around, join, ch 1 (12).
The rest of the graham cracker can either be joined directly onto the marshmallow during round 3, or continued as a separate piece that will be sewn onto the s’more later.

The example crochet s’more keychain, as seen above, has each stitch in round 3 worked through both loops of the current round of the graham cracker, as well as the front loops only of the marshmallow that are left over from round 8, simultaneously, in order to join both pieces together without sewing.
Alternatively, you may instead work round 3 into the front loops only of your previous round and continue the graham cracker as a separate piece.
Then, after completing the cracker, you may attach it to the marshmallow by sewing around the entire circumference of both pieces, through the back loops only of round 2 of the cracker and the front loops only of round 8 of the marshmallow.
Rnd 3: in both loops of cracker and FLO of marshmallow of each st around, [1sc into next st, 3sc into next st, 1sc into next st] 4 times, join, ch 1 (20).
Rnd 4: [1sc into each of next 2 sts, 3sc into next st, 1sc into each of next 2 sts] 4 times, join (28).
Fasten off yarn C and weave in tail.

Repeat rounds 1 to 4 of the graham cracker to add another cracker onto the opposite side of the marshmallow, onto the front loops only that are left over from round 2.
Take care before attaching your second cracker to rotate your work so that your new cracker has the same orientation as your first cracker.
Attaching Crochet S'more Keychain:
To make your amigurumi into a keychain, like the sample piece below, begin by splitting your first jump ring with pliers and locate the stitch on your piece that you would like to be the topmost point.
The example crochet s’more keychain is attached to the clip in round 2 of the top graham cracker.
Insert one end of the jump ring through the surface of your piece on one side of your chosen stitch, then out again on the other side of that stitch.
Then, use your pliers to bend the jump ring securely closed. Repeat these steps with a second jump ring onto the bottom of your keychain clip.

Finally, connect your amigurumi and keychain clip together by threading a third jump ring through both of your first two jump rings, and bending it closed to create a chain of three jump rings total.
The length of your chain can be modified to be longer or shorter by using more or fewer jump rings, respectively. You may also connect your jump rings onto a premade chain, instead.
Alternatively, you may also sew your piece onto the keychain clip with a length of yarn, or create a length of macramé or braid to connect your pieces together, as well.
Choose whichever method works best for you! Just be sure to choose components that are durable enough for your intended use!
